The Yorkshire Children's Spine Foundation has received funding via BT as part of the company's voluntary payroll giving scheme. Run as a key element of BT's community investment programme, 'Give As You Earn' enables BT people to donate to any UK charity of their choice straight from their gross salary (before tax is deducted). BT pays for all the associated administration costs and also matches employee donations up to £1 million - which means that every charitable donation received is increased.
YCSF is one of thousands of charities that has received funds via the BT 'Give As You Earn' programme and we are delighted to receive funding from BT's payroll giving programme.
Beth Courtier, BT's head of Charity Programmes adds: "Payroll giving offers a simple and effective way for BT people to support charities of their choice tax efficiently. As a result of monthly contributions from employees, and donations receiving matching from BT we know this really makes a difference to thousands of voluntary organisations each year. We are really proud to announce that in 2006/2007 BT and its UK employees donated £3.3m through payroll giving. We recognise this is a vital source of sustainable income for voluntary organisations which enables them to deliver critical services to their communities.
