    Hi everybody, Let's kick start the forum. Everyone is understandably ?wary about being the first one to post a comment so it is down to me I think.

    ?Have you any news or a story?to share with us?

    Have you just been diagnosed with scoliosis and are wondering what happens now?

    Any questions at all or comments about the website would be welcome so if there is anyone out there please?get in touch.

    Hi my name is Samantha Hellings nee Yates.

    I had my scoliosis operation in the summer of 1988, i had 2 major ones and the removal of the rods a year later.

    If there is anybody out there that remembers me hello! There was a girl from Rawdon called Joanne just finishing her treatment at the same time as i went in.

    If anyone out there is wanting to ask me any questions towards scoliosis i would be willing to answer them as i have experienced this and to this day still am.

    I am now 34 years old living?and enjoying life to the full with my husband Paul.

    I recently did the sponsored walk for scoliosis and it was a very disappointing turn out, so if we could get our heads together to raise money for more awareness on scoliosis this would be great.

    Well done for adding the first comments!!?

    Hopefully more people will pluck up the courage to post details of their experiences and we can really build up a helpful and supportive community to help anyone with scoliosis or a similar spinal condition.

    Hi I'm Alex,

    I was diagnosed with scoliosis when i was 5 and had my first 2 stage op at the age of 7. Since then I had the regular 6 monthly ops to lengthen my rods as?i grew.

    ?15 years and 20+ operations later??I feel great and I'd love to get to know people who have had similar experiences to me!

    Hi. My daughter, who is sixteen, has just had an anterior (one stage) correction of thoracic lumbar scoliosis. If anyone out there needs to know more about this I'd be pleased to try and help. I was very grateful for all the help and support I received from these forums.
